The emergence of wireless home security technol
LifeShield became part of AT&T Digital Life in July. The review below is from the year 2015, we will do a review of AT&T Digital Life later this year.
There is never a better time than right now to go out and get a home security system to protect your family and valuables. The industry has grown immensely over the past several decades which has opened it up to countless companies that are looking to be innovative and creative with the way they help you protect everything that means the most to you. While most homeowners recognize the names like ADT, Frontpoint, and Livewatch, there are many other companies that can give you the safety you desire. One of those companies is Lifeshield Home Security. Lifeshield Home Security is partnered with DIRECTV, the satellite television company and this partnership has presented some advantages to those who select this home security company.
One of the features that Lifeshield Home Security makes stand out on their website is that they can save you 35% compared to ADT. ADT is one of the most recognizable names in the business, but Lifeshield Home Security is working to get their reputation as one of the best each day. The company offers numerous services and packages to choose from, including their basic package (Security Essentials), their most popular package (Security Advantage), and their greatest value package (Security Professional). These packages offer various pieces of equipment that will help give you peace of mind when you leave for work each day.
For starters, each package will provide you with at least:
The above mentioned items come with the basic package that costs $29.99 per month with a 36 month agreement. The Security Advantage package costs $39.99 per month with a 36 month agreement and also gives you 1 wireless camera with video monitoring and 2 additional door/window sensors. The Security Professional package gives you another 2 door/window sensors, and additional wireless camera, and 1 GB of extra video storage.
While Lifeshield doesn't offer any home automation options like the ability to open and close your garage door, turn on or off your lights, or adjust the temperature, it does allow you to monitor your system remotely. With notifications that can be set on or off with ease, you can receive notification each time your door or window sensor goes off. Another area that they excel at is with their innovation. The company features more than 20 patents that help ensure every part of your home is protected.
Another feature to take note of is their state of the art fire protection system. With this feature, the system itself actually monitors and listens for the sound of your fire detector going off in your home, which will trigger an alert that is sent to central command who will then reach out to the home owner and the authorities if that is needed.
The amount of features that Lifeshield Home Security are a major reason why more home owners are switching carriers in the industry each day.
With an internet ready system, Lifeshield allows you to connect your security system to your mobile phone by using a wireless signal. Even with this system, if you lose power, your system will still be in effect, so there is nothing to worry about there.
One of the best things about Lifeshield is that even with their most basic package, you are getting enough sensors to accommodate most modest sized homes, plus you are getting fire protection. You can also add extra security devices that will all fit in with the main unit. Among these extra devices you can add to your unit including freeze sensors, broken glass sensors, and flooding sensors. Depending on the area in which you live, these sensors could be one of the biggest additions to your home security system. Other add-ons Lifeshield offers with each package include panic buttons, sirens, and motion sensors.
Another area in which Lifeshield stands out above the competition is charging less for video monitoring than most other companies. The only downfall with their video service is that you can only get live feed of your system with their most expensive package. They also don't offer subscribers any intercom system, nor do they offer any home automation. This is a major issue for many people in our current world as the need to turn the thermostat down or up, shut garage doors, and turn off lights from thousands of miles away is a major selling point.
Like many other companies entering the home security business today, the Lifeshield system is one that can be full installed by you. Unlike many other companies that offer plug and protect systems, Lifeshield does allow subscribers the chance to either speak with an install technician to help answer any possible questions or to have a technician come out to your home to complete the install. They also have many helpful tools online that will help you install your unit properly and so it is most effective.
With our experience with Lifeshield Home Security by DIRECTV, there are times when we have missed being able to control the different units of the system while on vacation, but overall, it is something we can live without. The amount of innovative ideas and aspects contained within the system makes me feel comfortable each time I leave my home. Yes, having to ensure that everything is off when it should be when I leave for work or even for vacation can be time consuming, but in all honesty, even with home security systems that feature home automation, you are still checking everything anyway.
We know firsthand that their innovative fire detection technology works. When our smoke detector sensed some smoke in the air from our wood stove, the alert was sent to the central command center who in turn contacted me to find out if it was an issue that would need any further help from the authorities. The best part about this was that it occurred overnight, showing me that there was actually someone in the command center, adding to my comfort level with this company.
