The Bottom Line

Brinks Security reentered the home security industry in 2018 when the company purchased MONI and LiveWatch, two well-respected home security providers. Since the merger, Brinks Home Security has offered a selection of 24/7 home monitoring plans that appeal to customers interested in reasonably-priced home security with high-quality equipment.
The company offers four different home security plans, ranging from a basic system that uses Nest Secure alarm systems to a comprehensive home security system complete with cameras, and a video doorbell. They also offer two options in-between.
Many customers love Brinks because they let users test out the system at home for a full month with their 30-day money-back guarantee. They also give consumers the flexibility to install their home security system themselves or to pay a professional to complete the task—although this is a pricey option. In addition, unlike many of its competitors, Brinks makes 24/7 monitoring standard on all its home security packages, with the lowest package starting at just $29 a month.
Let's take a closer look at what makes the Brinks Home Security system so valuable and im-portant for your home.

Detailed Review

LiveWatch has long been one of the most highly-rated home security companies in the industry. The business was previously ranked as The Home Security Expert's top third choice for home security. However, the company was bought by Brinks Home Security in early 2018 and merged with the corporation's main security service and other recent acquisition, MONI. LiveWatch is now the same as Brinks Home Security and comes with the same equipment, packages, and monitoring services as the security giant.

Brink's recent purchase of LiveWatch and MONI means that the home security company now offers better equipment and monitoring options to its customers. The acquisition and internal reshuffling have allowed enabled Brinks to increase the quality of its service and cultivate a rep-utation as a better option for consumers.

Brinks now offers four home security packages, ranging from the basics to high-end packages complete with video monitoring and home automation.

Key Features & Technology

The most important feature in Brinks Home Security's system is the fact that every single plan comes with 24/7 monitoring. This is a huge improvement over the competition, which typically only provides such monitoring for their most expensive packages.

In addition, the company offers customers a selection of high-quality electronics. Homeowners can elect to use an existing or new Nest Secure system along with Brinks monitoring, or they can choose one of three packages featuring exclusive Brinks devices. Either way, customers can se-lect a plan confident that their equipment is designed to last.

Brinks also has a well-regarded smartphone app. This means that homeowners with an Android or Apple phone can access their home's security system from anywhere in the world, even watching video in real-time from their phone. Brinks also offers cloud storage options for securi-ty videos. This provides traveling homeowners with peace of mind since they can record footage while they are out of town in case of a break-in.

Finally, all of Brinks components work on a WiFi network, making this an excellent choice for modern homes. They also have a cellular backup in case the power fails—ensuring your home is always protected.

Installation

One of Brinks Home Security's strong selling points is the fact that they offer both do-it-yourself and professional installation options. Customers who are handy around the house may want to choose either the Nest Secure or Smart Security Essential options, either of which can be in-stalled by the homeowner in minutes. They can certainly choose one of the more expensive packages, although installation of cameras and a smart doorbell will take quite a bit more time.

On the other hand, Brinks offers a professional installation option for consumers who don't want the hassle of having to put together their own system. The company's technicians are well-informed and work quickly, but a professional installation will cost you $199.

Plans

Nest Secure

Nest Secure is the most bare-bones home security package offered by Brinks. Customers have the option of purchasing their Nest system through Brinks for $399 or hooking up their existing equipment to brinks. It comes with a monthly fee of just $29. Customers who purchase this plan will have access to 24/7 monitoring, home automation, and the Brinks smartphone app.

Smart Security Essential

Brink Home Security's Smart Security Essential package is the most cost-effective 24/7 service they offer. It costs $199 for the equipment and comes with a monthly fee of $29. It also has a wireless touch screen, motion sensor, 2 door sensors, and yard signs and stickers. In addition, this package comes standard with smartphone control and home automation.

Smart Security Complete

Smart Security Complete is one of Brinks Home Security's top-of-the-line systems. This package costs $499 for equipment and comes with a $39 a month fee. It comes with a touchscreen control panel, an indoor camera with night vision, 2 motion sensors, 3 door sensors, and yard signs and window stickers. Customers also have access to 24/7 monitoring, home automation, and cloud video storage.

Smart Security Ultimate

Smart Security Ultimate is the premium-level package offered by Brinks Home Security. It costs $1099 for the equipment and comes with a monthly fee of $39, with a 36-month agreement. In addition, it includes a touchscreen control panel, video doorbell, 2 motion sensors, 3 door sen-sors, an outdoor camera, yard signs and stickers, and professional installation included.

This package also comes with 24/7 home monitoring, a cellular backup connection, and home automation. Finally, homeowners can store security footage on their cloud system.

Our Experience

After getting our Brinks Home Security system, the first thing we noticed is the high-quality of the equipment. Brinks is well-known for its excellent 24/7 monitoring and home security equip-ment—and we were not disappointed. In addition, the do-it-yourself Smart Security Essential package was incredibly easy to install and get running.

Our customers also love the fact that the Nest Secure package is only $29 a month without a long-term contract. This is a perfect option for renters and others who are unwilling to commit to a lengthy home security commitment.

Finally, my family loved the fact that this system comes with home automation integrated into it out-of-the-box. We were able to quickly connect it to our Google Home assistant and to integrate the security system into our larger automation network

I did a ton of research looking for a no contract alarm company, in the end it was between Simplisafe and Livewatch. I decided on and bought my Livewatch system about 2 months ago because their equipment seems to be much further ahead in technology than Simplisafe. I also like that they are home automation compatible if i ever decide to go that route. I bought a simple system from them - touchscreen IQ panel, 3 door sensors, smoke alarm, and a glass break sensor (couldnt do motion sensor bc i have a large dog). Everyone i have dealt with knew their stuff and was very helpful and friendly. The setup was painless and i had no issues with any of the equipment. I have been charged exactly what i was told for the equipment, the activation, and the monitoring. I have not had any real incidents to "test" the system, but i do not doubt it will work as advertised. Livewatch seems to be an awesome company and i am glad i picked them.
