Detailed Review

Link Interactive has a long history of providing monitored home security services to residential homeowners in the United States. As a result, the company is finally getting recognized for its flexible security package options, excellent video monitoring equipment, and all-cellular security systems. Read through our Live Interactive security review to learn more about the company's offerings.

Key Features

One of the most impressive features of the Link interactive security system is the fact that the monitored security system runs entirely off of a cellular network. This feature has several important benefits:

  • First of all, this type of system means that your home is not vulnerable to thieves when the power line goes down. Traditionally, landline-based alarm systems would completely lose service when the local power supply goes down.
  • In addition, another important benefit associated with cellular-based home security systems is that they are not vulnerable to tampering by thieves. With broadband and landline home security systems, thieves can disable the entire system simply by cutting the phone line or signal to your WiFi router. The cellular capability manufactured into every Link security system means that you don't' have to worry about this vulnerability.

Link Interactive's cameras come with night vision and HD video quality as a stock feature, providing you with detailed evidence that you can provide to investigators if your home is burglarized. Link's video monitoring capabilities are also partnered with Alarm.com, allowing you to access and monitor your home's video feed from anywhere in the world.

Another great benefit associated with the company's security plans is the lack of installation costs. Link Interactive installation is extremely easy: just choose the equipment that you would like for your home security system, pay for the package, and Link will ship your equipment to you quickly. You're then responsible for installing all of the equipment on your own at your own pace.

One of the most popular features found in Link Interactive's Elite package is is the home automation capability built into every single device the company ships out. The company is well-known for its home automation equipment, which allows you to control your home's lights, temperature, and even locks from your smartphone or tablet. In addition, the system has optional components that allow you to control your thermostat, garage door, and even control your kitchen's small appliances, all with the touch of a button.

Another flexible feature that Link Interactive offers is the ability to select and purchase your home security equipment a la carte. Link no longer offers equipment packages, but now encourages their customers to think carefully about their home's monitoring needs and to only purchase equipment that they will actually utilize. This provides you with a great deal of flexibility in your home's monitored security set-up.

Lastly, Link Interactive offers very flexible contract packages. Customers can sign up for packages with contract lengths of 12-months, 24-months, and 36-months. This makes the company's offerings perfect for renters or military personnel, who simply may not be living in the home long enough to justify a 36-month home security contract.

Packages

Link Interactive offers three different home security packages for their customers, with all three packages offering 24/7 home security monitoring and environmental sensors.

But, unlike most of the company's competitors, Link Interactive does not offer a professional installation option, meaning that homeowners are responsible for installing the entire security system on their own. While this can save you a great deal of upfront money on installation costs, such a project can be difficult for inexperienced homeowners or for those who are not handy with tools.

Standard Package

Link's basic package, currently costing just $30.99 a month, provides the user with 24/7 home security monitoring and environmental sensors (smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide), with the option of a 12, 24, or 36-month contract. Like all Link Interactive home security packages, you can purchase all of your equipment a la carte.

Gold Package

Link's mid-level offering, the Gold Package, is currently retailing for $39.99 a month. This package contains all of the features included in the Standard Package, plus it comes with the two-way voice features, email and text alerts, and home automation capabilities. As always, the plan comes with 12, 24, and 36-month contract options, and you can purchase all of your equipment a la carte.

Elite Package

Link Interactive's high-end home security package, the Elite Package comes with all of the advanced features found in the Gold Package plus the company's highly-regarded video monitoring capabilities.
This enables the company to check your home's video feed in cases of emergency and allows you to access the video feed from your smartphone, wherever you are. This package comes with a 12, 24, and 36-month contract option, as well as the ability to select all of your equipment.

Experience with Link Interactive

While Link offers a set of wonderful home security packages and excellent customer service, their cellular capabilities, flexible contract offerings, and the quality of their video monitoring equipment is what really separates the company from their competition.

Link Interactive's video monitoring equipment is among the best in the business, and customer reviews show that users have been impressed with the quality of the Link Interactive equipment. In particular, the stock video cameras come with excellent resolution and long-range night vision capabilities—a relative rarity on base model home security equipment.

In addition, the Link Interactive contract options provide a great deal of flexibility for the company's customers. In particular, the option to select a 12-month contract is perfect for renters who are unable to commit to a full 36-month home security contract.

Comments

I've been using Link Interactive for 2-3 months now. I like its benefits and pricing. Installing the system was fine. It’s not big a deal because I know how to do it. My interactions with their reps were good. So far, everything’s fine with them.
